As you may be aware the Western Australian State Government has for some time been reviewing the Aboriginal Heritage Act ahead of making substantial amendments to it. They have now prepared a draft consultation bill, that if adopted by Parliament, will form the new Act.
The State Government are currently doing roadshows around the State seeking input on the consultation bill. NNTAC will be meeting with the Government and making submissions on behalf of Ngadju in relation to the bill. If there is anything you do or don’t like in the bill, please call Michelle Alexander or myself and we can make those submissions on your behalf when we meet the Government.
As always please give me a call if you would like to discuss anything about the bill or the Heritage Act generally.
